Hard Drive a high-capacity, self-contained storage device containing a read-write mechanism plus one or more hard disks, inside a sealed unit. Also called hard disk drive.

Zip Disk The Zip drive is a medium-to-high-capacity (at the time of its release) removable floppy disk storage system that was introduced by Iomega in late 1994. Originally, Zip diskslaunched with capacities of 100 MB, but later versions increased this to first 250 MB and then 750 MB.

Optical Disk - CDs can store up to 700 megabytes (MB) of data and DVDs can store up to 8.4 GBof data. Blu-ray discs, which are the newest type of optical media, can store up to 50 GB of data. This storage capacity is a clear advantage over the floppy disk storage media (a magnetic media), which only has a capacity of 1.44 MB.
